Spitting facts, the car scene in general was better in the 90s and 00s. Ppl wanted their car to be different from the next. These days lowriders and the JDM scene has become very cookie cutter. I still love the cars. But like you said, I know what the car show is going to consist of before going. But when I went to shows as a kid in the 90s and a teen in 00s you never knew what was going to be at the show Wonder if social media has played a role in the custom car scene become more sterile. And I'd rock a conversion no problem, that's true hot rod stuff, and without hot rodding there would be no hot rodding.
Roll what you can afford and some conversations are done nicer that a factory ride as far a s reinforcing the body and frame of course the vin will say different but oh well the price will reflect as well

I don't see the problem to be honest, the way I see it you're saving a 4dr improving it in pretty much every way. I guess the only problem is crooked sellers that aren't honest about the conversion but you think the title would clear that up.

Here's my thing..why is ok for a 93-96 Fleetwood 4door to be turned into a 2 door, or a Lincoln Town car but yet when an Impala gets converted now it's frowned on. Makes no sense! I'm for anything that looks clean, even if it was converted.

The Lowrider scene is coming up but most of the best times I've had is when I go to Custom Car shows with jacked up trucks, old school muscle, bikes, pro touring, euros, mini trucks, imports, a real party mix! It is cool to appreciate others work, they appreciate my work and we network and vibe! Peace in the Streets! I'm digging the fact that Lowriders and Hot Rods are coming together here in the East! I'm making it a point that they see me at events and cruising and they are inviting me to their shoes now! Bridging Gaps, doing me!!

I sold my 2door box an i regret it every single day i had it so clean all caddy conversion 44inch caddy sunroof .pillow back seats digital caddy dash all chrome.pieces cut out to fit the outside panels . . the desicion i.had to do to lt was and. Ls8 or a working convertable top. Well some hard times came up and i sold the caprice for nickels an dimes. I see two door stock wit nothin on it jus ok clean an their selling for more then my dumb ass could of sold for . dam smh .. Last picture i saw of it . it was at TJ The AVE shop roof cut off but i guess the couldnt afford to finish it . dam wat a waist of a clean caprice custom . but any.way id roll a conversion as long as its done rite an looks clean when the top is up .

Why not conversion or not heck even old Hollywood tops and yes why not be different the whole point of lowriding is not the same cookie cutter shit amd like you said Hit a show 61z65 impalas and g bodies everywhere a few caddies .. When was the last time someone pulled out a old 70s Hollywood top tbird? They made them from factory as well as T top.. Heck even some old pontiacs and odd cars? West UP Caliboy!!! you should talk about Hydraulics vs Air Ride not about what is better but just the fact that we are all lowriders and share the same passion for these classic cars but we don't all have the same bank account. i could never afford to get my frame done, buy the set up and pay for the install BUT... $2500 later and i'm ridding just like any other lowrider but i can't hop it or do 3 wheel but OH WELL. Do a podcast on 90 two door Fleetwood conversions. Do you have to have the side panels. I don't think so. The front clip and bumper and tail lights should be sufficient. Everybody think you need a full d'Elegance package

Honestly, I care if it's a real rag or not for myself, because when I buy my first Impala, I plan to keep it for a really long time. I'm not after a rag specifically, I'm 50/50 on CV's and HT's. I don't care if others have a conversion or not, but it does suck if people are chopping up a perfectly fine hard top just to have a rag, because they're not making any more of these cars, and the prices seem to keep going up. One of the pages I follow on Instagram that flips Chevy's (Campos Collision or Hess the Rag Shop I think) posted a bracket/panel in the trunk by the quarter panel of a CV. I'm not sure if that was year specific, or on all convertibles. Just go look at some of these nice hard tops before you decide to cut the top off, OG Tweet's 64HT for example. I think it's lame when the rag guys crack jokes on hard tops, I remember first getting into these cars I was surprised people shit on 4-doors too. I thought it would be all love, especially amongst other Chevy owners. Digging the videos Caliboy, keep up the good work.

Yeah I do that with most of my builds try to find the least way I can put in my ride and still make it look cool. I fill that the way that the person builds there car that fits there budget and that is cool as long as they are having fun with what they built. Right on Caliboy for bringing up this subject because I to go to many diffrent car, truck, motorcycles, boat, plan, ART SHOWS to get idea's from all over the place if you are not going to many diffrent shows then you are missing out on many diffrent idea's and meeting diffrent people. I'm from Northen California bay area. It's not just about vehicles it's about many diffrent enjoyment of life. Don't get me wrong I am a car freak I can name all kinds of cars truck's from the 70s on back to the early 1900s and know the history and why who design it and why they did.
Heck they are building 1965 Fast Back Mustang, 1964 impala, Ford's, 1932-1936 and a lot of other car's that they get all the metal stamped out sent to there home all in boxes. Put it together in there garage. You will see the car and wonder how it was kept so clean all those years. It is because that car was built brand new over 2 year's in a garage. There is a shop in San Francisco that builds 1932-34s brand new with all the modern-day technology power breaks power steering heater air-conditions.

Only cars that can be converted from 4 door to 2 door convertible are newer caddys cause they dont make 2 doors..but if they make a convertible buy a real convertible

I have spoken with the original owner of Zenith Wire Wheels. His name was Craig and he owned Zenith till his passed away from colon cancer in the early 2000’s. I currently have a set of original Zeniths stashed away. The original shop jumped around a few locations. But all 3 shops that I knew of were located in Campbell, CA. The set of wheels that I had built by Zenith way back then were stolen in 2002. I used to have a set of 16” Type 2’s that I regret trading to Craig for a set of 100 straight spikes. These were the ones stolen in 2002.

Man the hardest low riders to me is a 2 door big body Fleetwood convertible and none came from the dealership like that if it wasn’t for Topo thinking outside the box this would’ve never been possible low riding is an art an expression of what you like and I’m sure no one is saying the 2 door Fleetwood conversation is ugly or not worth anything so people need to just let people do what they want and stop worrying about it it’s their car and they money period
